Temporarily Adhere Plastic to Tile?

This is an odd dilemma... My girlfriend is looking for a way to adhere a plastic soap dish to the tile wall in her shower. The dish came with suction cups, but they won't stick to the tile and she's not sure what to do now. Using some sort of adhesive is an obvious solution, but she rents and will have to remove it when she moves.

Anyone know of an adhesive that might work for this - or should I find some other solution? The duct tape that's holding it up now just isn't cutting it.

You could try a silicone adhesive (like what you would caulk a bathtub with). The silicone won't be terribly difficult to remove when it's time to move and so long as she's not putting anything too heavy on the dish, I think it would work well.

If you dry the surface and then clean it with rubbing alcohol (and let dry again)... you should be able to use those 3M"Command" adhesive strips that you pull-down-to-remove. They come with those snazzy hooks, but you should be able to find just the strips in replacement packs.

Good luck!

Nice idea, rh! I use those 3M strips all the time to keep cables in line. Great alternative use!

Thanks guys!
I think I'll go with the 3M strips. I'm sure silicone would work... but tape is more my thing. :) Thanks again for the advice!
